Keyword Trends

keyword trendsThe SEO DIVER Keyword Trends tool provides a real-time overview (daily update) of search trends in UK over the last seven days.
The search terms displayed are search queries that demonstrated a significant increase (buzz) with search volume growth rates from 40% to more than 5,000%. The terms generally reflect seasonal and (hyper) local events, as well as events attracting media attention.
The sequence of the keyword list or phrases is based on the percentage of increase in search volume. The maximum increase is 5,000%. If several search terms demonstrate the same increase, the terms are sorted alphabetically.

Application examples

Keyword trends are intended to provide a quick overview of topics that users are currently searching. Using the archive function, the events of recent weeks can be analysed, providing information on the search behaviour of new, similar but unknown events. Among the search patterns that generated a buzz are, for example, successful marketing campaigns, product launches and software updates, media events and, of course, all news searches on a specific event. Using existing search patterns, editorial strategies can be better planned and optimised at an early stage using the keyword trends tool so that users can achieve the right ranking at the right time.

Results output

By default, the top 500 keywords are displayed first and sorted according to growth rates. If several keywords demonstrate the same growth rate, the terms are sorted alphabetically. The time span refers to the last seven days, whereby the data is displayed with a delay of approximately two days.

keyword-trends2Clicking one of the keywords opens the details page for this keyword. The keyword details contain the category in which the keyword was able to achieve growth, the exact date on which the highest increase was documented and an extract of the first three Internet results of the Yahoo! search for this word. This provides information on what caused the increase.

Subsequently, the keyword trends charts from Google Insights for Search and Google Trends are displayed to support the analysis. If the increase was documented in the social media channel, the trend diagram of the social media search Omgili will complete the analysis.
