Static Visibility

Static Visibility

Definition ‚Static Visibility‘

Static Visibility is a key figure that represents a domain’s ranking performance within the organic Google results. It is based on a pre-defined list of keywords.

Unlike Search Engine Reach, Static Visibility is determined on a purely theoretical basis. To calculate this figure, all the top results from more than half a million pre-defined keywords are analysed every week. In addition to ranking positions, Static Visibility also takes seasonal fluctuation in the search volume and the diversity of Universal Search into account in the process.

What sort of database is behind this process?

To calculate this figure, all positions of a local search market for approximately 500,000 select keywords between ranks 1 and 50 are evaluated once a week per search market (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, etc).

These keywords were aggregated and normalised over the course of several years in order to generate a representative average (reference set). Additionally, up-to-date trend keywords (such as events in news, media, and other areas) are added to the keyword list every day.

For what purposes can this value be used?

Static Visibility is excellent for quickly evaluating changes in ranking/position for your own web projects and for analysing competitors’ SEO performance.

How is this value calculated?

The calculation of this key figure is based on a complex formula; to put it simply, it is calculated based on Google positions and the click rate to be expected based on these positions, as well as the monthly search volume for the keywords in the sample. The upper range of the scale for this figure is open-ended and is measured according to the most popular domain.

How are these values displayed?

The progression of the key figures is depicted in a line graph. It provides an easy-to-read overview of a domain’s historical development in the Google index’s organic search.

In total, the SEO performance of up to eight domains can be directly compared.

Can this figure be compared to figures from other providers?

In our estimation, Static Visibility in SEO DIVER is comparable to the figures generated by other well-known online SEO tool providers, thanks to the data collection methods it employs. But don’t take our word for it; try it out for yourself.

Example data

  • „“ analyses the Static Visibility of all subdomains under *
  • „,“ Placing a comma between the domains generates a curve that displays the combined Static Visibility for all subdomains of * and * This graph could then be compared with ‘,’.

Domain Details:

Domain DetailsThe domain details provide a quick overview of a domain’s key SEO figures. In addition to the average values for Search Engine Reach, Search Engine Perception and Static Visibility, you can also find homepage’s Google PageRank, the number of indexed pages and the average traffic that the website receives (on a scale from 1 to 10) here. The actual server location, the web host, the IP address and the domain’s age are also factors that are often of interest. In terms of social media data, we show the website’s mentions/links on Twitter and the homepage’s Facebook likes. A list of the subdomains relevant to this website rounds off the domain details.

Backlink Details:

Backlink DetailsThe ‘Backlink Details’ provide some statistics that can indicate at a glance whether the backlink profile is healthy or perhaps a bit peaky. If these data are unavailable at some point, a look at the LinkCheck tool might be helpful (it can be found as a shortcut above the heading of the ‘Backlink Details’ box).
Follow backlinks were exclusively used to determine the key backlink figures. On this basis, you can view the website’s host, domain, IP, class C and ASN popularity. The ratio of homepage links to deep links and text links to image links, as well as the top five link texts, top five server locations, top five TLDs and subject matter of the linked pages, and the most frequent link targets top off the backlink details. The icing on the cake is the backlink authority score, which shows you how strong a link profile is in comparison to the link profiles of other websites (the higher, the better).

Network Domains:

If the box with the network domains appears, this is an indication that the Search Engine Reach displayed is based on several subdomains of the same host name. This overview provides users with information on the subdomains that were considered during the calculation of the Search Engine Reach. In some cases, several hundred subdomains are included in the calculation, which can sometimes take up to three minutes.
